Welcome To The Royal Oak
Jacky and Irish invite you to the Royal Oak. Set just off the main high street of this historic Oxfordshire Town, our aim is to achieve what many Pubs strive for - to appeal to both Visitors and Locals in equal measure and in perfect harmony, and as might be expected from a true country pub, children and dogs are welcome.
The Oak offers a great balance between freshly prepared home cooking, a busy bar trade enjoying a well kept variety of ales and wines, traditional pub games including Darts, Bar Billiards and Aunt Sally and occasional live music tailored to be sympathetic to both diners and drinkers. The bar offers three Wadworth ales on a permanent basis with 6X and Henrys ever present, and a Brewery guest ale when available. It also goes without saying that with an Irish Landlord, Guinness is a top seller.
Popular dishes from the kitchen are home made pies, the house burger, the mixed grill, vegetarian dishes, the daily specials board and on Sundays when it is advisable to book, a selection of Roast Joints (See food service times).
The picture is completed by two en-suite letting rooms, well appointed with a king size double and a double/twin available, both with Freeview television, with an excellent breakfast after a good night's sleep.
This Pub has been transformed into one of the areas most vibrant hostelries as reflected in the Breweries recent investment in extension and refurbishment and the continuous stream of positive endorsements now appearing on online review sites.
